Yin yoga was named after the idea of Yin and Yang, the concept that revolves around opposites fitting together in one harmonious unity. Yin represents the stable, grounded, and passive movement, while yang represents changing, upward, and active movement.

In our yin yoga classes we will lead you through a series of poses, or asanas that will be held for longer amounts of time, roughly around five minutes or longer. This will apply moderate stress to connective tissue geared at improving circulation, energy, and flexibility. Yin yoga concentrates on meditation, focusing energy to your inner being more deeply through sensations and emotions.
